Gamestop Manager Steven Kick Out Customer

Steven, Manager of gamestop Columbia sc Kick me out of store after he got tired of me trying nicely to explain that my nephews could not use the gift cards, and I was not advise of the gift policy when I purchase the gift card. I advised him that I had the receipt as well the gift card. Well he was not hearing that he did not try to help me not even an inch. I only went into the store two weeks prior I didnt know anything about the store. I know one thing for certain I was treated like an animal on today. I have called and made a complaint with corporate, I will be contacting the BB next. I want nothing else to do with gamestop because they have terrible customer service.

if you were trying to refund a gift card... you can't do that no matter where you go..

that's a given... he shouldn't have had to tell you that

GameStop - Horrible Customer Service!

So I bought my husband a certified used Playstation 3 and the Call of Duty - Black Ops game he wanted for CHRISTMAS! The guy that sold it to me they are guarenteed to be like new if bought used. So I thought to save a few bucks I'll buy used. So I did. and I bought the warranty with it as well. $340 later I give the gift to my husband to open on CHRISTMAS and he is beyond estatic about this gift! He goes to plug it in and get it working and NOTHING WORKS. I AM PISSED! My husband looks so disappointed. He was so freaking excited for this thing and then nothing. What a let down on christmas huh..so I go to take it back today..I walk in and told the gentleman that I needed to return the items I had purchased and he asked if something was wrong and I said yes it doesnt work. I said we plugged it in and nothing. We tried 2 different tv's too. So he tries to trouble shoot it and we find out that it does work, it just wasnt reset to the factory settings so thats why it didnt turn on they way it was suppose to..So the manager comes up to the desk at this point and starts giving me a whole bunch of attitude about returning it when nothing is wrong with it. I said it doesnt matter. I'm returning it. Your receipt says that for any used item, a full refund will be given if returned within 7 days of purchase. Here I am 2 days later. I want my money back. He returned it and I left. Never to return. A little more happened in the process of returning it that made my decision of not ever returning. Needless to say the store manager was a complete *** and should be demoted! You dont treat customers that like.

GameStop and there no price match policy

I always shop at gamestop. I was browsing the internet and noticed best buy had the item for $20 less. Not a huge amount of money but regardless its $20. I took the ad to gamestop and was told they do not price match. I buy all my consoles and games there. I have for years. Just thought it was a bad business move on there end. The bestbuy it located across the street. I was told to go buy it there, so I did. Just weird that they would rather make there customers spend money somewhere else than to take care of the issue. They company is huge and they would rather send away paying customers and eat $20.00. I think I will keep shopping at bestbuy. This happened in Valparaiso Indiana.

They don't price match, and a lot of places don't. Nothing the store can do about it. A friend of mine almost got fired for price matching 5$ one time.

#589552

your problem is that you're over dramatic. you're too lazy to shop in Best Buy so you try to make Gamestop lower the price for you.

if you got the ad at Best Buy, then why didn't you just make your purchase there? ***.

and if you got the ad online, most stores don't match online ads. I know most stores price match but Gamestop doesn't sell quite as much as a large retailer like Best Buy or Walmart.

#589650
@Patrick

How is he lazy. This guy just stated he is shopping at bestbuy.

Most online ads are the exact same as the ad that comes out in the mail also. It sounds like the guy is trying to support a true gaming store. It is hard to do that when you can save $20 bucks going somewhere else, let alone across the street. Over dramatic, seems like a nice polite person just stating a fact.

I know a ton of stores that match any price given to them including best buy.

I have priced matched off of amazon even. You mad bro?

Ya that does suck!

But the messed up thing is once shipping has been paid for any seller ebay or otherwise, an it ships it is out of that sellers hands an on the shipping service.

so actually Gamestop is in the wrong for not being up front about shipping service an the shipping company is also for not fullfilling their promise they offered for at fee.

Game Stop Online Service

Ordered and paid for games on-line and they were never available to down load. After on phone for over two hours and several non helpful employees got a manager. Most of time was on hold. They even dropped my call. The manager agreed to refund money. The manager acted like the other orders were more important than mine. I have one disappointed little boy. Yea like I will ever see it. Do not use game stop on line !! Their computer system asks for a one-time password. After you request this password, it never comes. Their staff was either half asleep, drugged up or could not understand them. What a day!!

Yes. I purchased a $65 online game in store and it's the second day and I haven't received my "one-time password" (I also sent an email asking for help, which has gone unreplied) and all i have to show for my money is a free program (Gamestop App).

The only reason I purchased the online game was because all physical copies were sold out. I will NEVER make that mistake again. DO NOT USE GAMESTOP ONLINE.

Gamestop,....I just want to play the game I payed for. Is that so hard to ask?

Remove the gamestop advertisement from the used cases.

Plain and simple. Remove the gamestop advertising artwork from the used games especially if you resale them when you are done like I do. I have had numerous problems with this company and I vow to never buy from them or eb games again. They ripped me off for a black ops 2 care package and then charged me shipping even though it was never shipped. I had to file a claimwith the bbb just to get my shipping charge back. They are a pathetic excuse for a business and I am convinced that they discard the original cases just to place their advertising in the used game cases. Think about it! I think you should get a bigger discount for their crummy generic case anyway.

The reason why GameStop uses those cases is because a person had traded in a game without the case. GameStop does not throw the cases out to put their "advertising" on it...

they use those cases so that someone who wants to purchase the game can have a case with the game if the game wasn't returned with a case. This complaint is silly.

If you're looking for a hard-to-find game, but the only trade-in was without a disc... wouldn't you rather have an ugly case to protect your game until you get home or to leave with literally just the disc?

#651901

I...I think i agree with some of your post. Honestly though, I'm having a hard time understanding the entire thing, your topic and first line are about the cases - Something that matters none at all it's that or an ugly plain black case. They do not just discard the original cases, a lot of people who trade in games(myself included) don't bring the case in with us, I dont use cases at home (CD Case) so I don't keep them on hand on the off chance i made trade the game a few years from now.

After that you go into a rant about soemthing total unrelated to the initally mentioned issue. The latter point you made is wrong, and Gamtestop.com sucks.

Then you rant back into the case just to try to make a point about getting stuff cheaper because its not in its orignal case.

The middle bit I can agree withbut the parts about the case are just dumb, grow up and either don't buy used or stop complaining.

#595418

You really shouldn't get a bigger discount since they don't deduct from trades for not having a case. Think about it!!! Fuktard

#597462
@PissedConsumer595418

That is such a good argument since they pay you what $1 for trade ins maybe $5 on a brand new game. Only children trade in to gamestop. An adult is smart enough to realize when they are getting screwed.

Remove the gamestop advertisement from the used cases.

I have had problems with gamestop in the past and vow to never buy from them or eb games again. I was screwed out of a limited edition preorder in which they told me that ups could not deliver the item even though I receive packages from ups all the time. They charged me for shipping even though I received nothing and I had to file a better business bureau claim just to get my shipping charge back. Anyway here is my thoughts. Why do the used games always come in the gamestop cases and not the original case? and it occurred to me... They must replace the case with their advertisement so please by all means people don't advertise for this sad excuse of a business especially if you resale games when you are done with them like I do. TAKE THE ADVERTISING SLEEVE OUT OF THE CASE!! And personally I think you should get a price break for their generic case not $2 off for a used game and generic case.

Harrassment

I told a friend he should shop at gamestop for anything game they are looking for christmas so they did as I recommended and he told me when he went in he was laughed at. I do not appreciate this as I told him that's where he should find a a present for his son! I will never shop at your store again . The bad thing is that the person who laughed is he store manger and i do not know who else to complain to. I'll promise you this if something is not done I will complain to the BBB. When I refer family or friends to a store and they are laughed at that's something i will never forgett

Gamestop Charges but Doesn't Deliver

I placed an order on Gamestop.com for a game to be delivered to my home and a 12-month gold member ship to xbox live, which was a digital download. The code for my membership was supposed to be on the order confirmation page, but it was not. Later I received an email confirming my order which stated that digital download codes would be sent in a different email. I never received that email. All attempts to contact customer service have failed. DO NOT shop with Gamestop.com if value your money and want to get what you pay for. Also, they charged my card within 4 microseconds after pushing the order button, but they don't seem to care about delivering what was paid for.

NO RECEIPT FROM ORDER

I made an online purchase with Game stop, I never got an email conformation sent to me, so I called customer service and they said "we have your order and it is shipping out we are sorry about the email not being sent". I did get my order only to get two of the same games and no receipt. I have called customer service several times only to be told "we can not send you a receipt". They also told me to go to the store and have them to swap out the game. I go to the store and guess what, the store does nothing without a receipt. So hear I am looking like I stole a game and still have a game that I do not need and Game stop is not doing anything about it. I will never buy from this company again, a multi-million dollar company and they SUCK.

Gamestop has unprofessional managers.

I'm in the army so my time in the day is very limited. I had came out of the field hoping to stop and get my copy of far cry 3 before I had to go to sleep and come back in to work. But the store on S raeford Rd in fayetteville instead of opening at 10 the manager comes up at 1030 and says he overslept so it will take another hour for the systems to work. Now everyone who came with limited time has to wait another day to get their pre order because of one persons *** up and there's nothing he could do to help any of us out. He shouldn't be in that position if hes too irresponsible to be on time yet gamestop has no way of sending in complaints except via phone to their headquarters.

GS does have a complaint tool. www.tellgamestop.com.

I logged a complaint two weeks ago about an issue. Apparently when you log a complaint, it triggers an email directly to the District Manager.

I know this because not more than 15 minutes later, I received an email from the DM and within that email was a copy of my complaint. Try that.

Game Stop store returns suck

I think it is pretty low that you can not return an unused game with a receipt to the game stop stores. My husband bought a game that just came out for my grandson and it was put aside to be given at a later time for birthday or christmas. It was an xbox game and now that we are going to give the gift the xbox is broken and the game is no good to us. I brought it back to the store and I didn't even want a full refund just a store credit and I was purchasing 2 other gift cards for xmas presents too. The store wanted me to go outside open the game and trad it in for 11.00. We paid 50.00 for the game. They still sell the game for 30.00 and when I asked for a store credit all they would do is the 11.00. How is that right???? I had the receipt and the game was never opened..........That is total ***!!!!!! And I will never buy anything brand new from game stop again or let my husband do so.

You probably didn't return it withing the 30 days.

All stores have the 30 day policy and to not read it was your own fault.

You're an fault. Act like one and quit whining.

#664637

As a GameStop Employee, they should have accepted the game. GameStop accepts new games so long as they aren't open and you have the receipt so long as it was within the 30 day return period.

"Returned product(s) must be in the original packaging and include any manuals, cabling and accessories in sellable condition. We reserve the right to limit returns to unopened or defective products. Defective product(s) will be replaced with a like item, upon return. Terms and conditions of manufacturer's warranty apply to defective video games systems and computer hardware after 30 days." So basically, the employee that denied your return basically broke policy.

If I were you, I would have spoken to a manager or came in contact with corporate.

And to clarify on that *** that says GameStop employees bring home new games to play them then they rewrap them... That's bull. We were allowed to bring home USED games so long as there was more than one copy in our inventory for a total of 4 days.

And the reason why some of the new games are opened already is because we put the disc on display. When selling a new game that was stored away separate from it's case, we would place a sticker to enclose it, not wrap it.

Some may argue that we wouldn't accept those because it's "technically" open, but we are supposed to. Typically we can tell if the sticker has been tampered with or taken off prior to return.

@PissedConsumer664637

I bought a game for 20 dollars brand new. My brother wouldnt let me play because of the M rating so we went to go trade it in for another game about 20 minutes later ( it was unopened ). The cashier said they couldnt trade it in for another game and that he could only give us 2 dollars or another copy of the same game.

#903036
@PissedConsumer699303

If you are under age it's actually against the law to sell it to you

#598462

First refunds are a courtesy not a right, and if the game was never opened how is it broken??

Just FYI, by law, any store that does offer media returns can ONLY exchange for the SAME item.

#598463
@Andrea

Never mind. I see that the system itself is broken.

Sell the game on Ebay. They still do not have to refund.

#598526
@Andrea

Already did. I wasn't asking for a refund I wanted an exchange. Don't matter anyway the game is gone and I probably won't buy any more games from them anyway.

#589555

really? for all they know, you bought the game somewhere else. I'm sorry to say it but receipts are there for more than just for your records.

#590090
@Patrick

why have a receipt at all? the receipt has date of purchase/store number and item you bought. You don't know what you are talking about.

#591607
@PissedConsumer590090

I don't know what I'm talking about, yet you sound like a ***? like I said, a receipt is needed for something that could have been bought anymore.

the receipt, like you said, has all of the necessary information. grow up.

Charged shipping for nothing! Crooks

Preordered the black ops 2 care package was supposed to be delivered in 4 days (was coming from about 5 hours away)and emailed customer service and received an automated email stating to contact them after 10 days. Called them after 10 days and was told that they would put a tracer on it and if they couldn't find it I would be shipped another one and it could take another 7-10 days. After 7 days I look in my bank account and there is the purchase price refunded but not the shipping cost. So I call and sit on hold again for another 45 minutes and I ask the lady what is going on with my order? She responded "we received the return" I said I didn't want a return and I never received anything so why am I being charged for shipping. She said she would put in a request for a shipping refund which I never received. Apparently their preorder guarantee does not guaranteed anything. Not only did I not receive anything but I was charged $8 to receive nothing. Didn't even get an apology or an offer for another item (which I can only guess is because they are not available anymore and someone within gamestop wanted it) .Wouldn't you think that they would have done something to compensate for all the headache that they caused. Bad customer service, poor preorder policy, store workers are incompetent, trade in prices are a joke and prices are outrageous. Amazon had the care package for the same price with free shipping. Also I contacted corporate and received no response either so from here I will have to contact the better business bureau for the return of my shipping cost. gamestop is a sad excuse for a business.

Gamestop Employees =duuuumb

3301 W. Kinberly Rd. Davenport, Iowa. This gamestop has been good for service... Until very recently they decide to hire *** I had questioned the manager to see if they were hiring. He replied, "No, we just hired these three for winter." Now, seeing that as the case.. I go to ask one of the kids a question about rpg's. He asks with the softest voice and had to ask him to speak up 3 times. After finally getting tired of it, I just asked what a good rpg, that never got that popular, is. He replies, Skyrim. If you don't understand, well...Skyrim was voted close to being the game of the year. Now, I ask everyone.. Have you dealt with this *** before? Or do you feel you could work at a game stop and actually help people with their questions?
