Called and told I Can Pick up a Wii U, from on a waiting list - get there, they have NOTHING.

I was on a wait list for the Wii U at my local gamestop. I received an exciting call, telling me that a 8 GB Console was available, and I could come and pick it up at the store. My mother went to pick it up - but they acted like she didn't know what she was talking about. I get another call, an automated message, saying I have until the end of Wednesday to pick up the console. Great, I thought - we'll get this squared away today! Arrive there, and have to wait a long time for manager to even show up for work, and then tell us that you had to come in that night, on Tuesday -- that they where already sold out. I kept saying to them - my mother was there, last night - - and their defense was that she was asking for the 32 GB console. My mother doesn't even know the definition of a gigabyte!! And instead of checking the list (which the people in the store should all have access to) - they instead turned her away, and give me jack squat on Wednesday. I call the Gamestop complaint line - and their operator is argumentative and discouraging, as she keeps repeating the same failing logic of the situation - saying that they call everyone (or at least more people than systems in stock) - and it's a free for all who gets there first. Despite what the automated call said, they don't hold the items at all. THENWHATHELLISAWAITINGLISTFORTHEN? Seriously considering not shopping there ever again.

Asking for yours id for a violent games As An Adult

The company Game Stop has now thinking if you as an adult has to show your id for a game that is to violent .Even though you are not a child but a adult .What diffrence would it make for an adult to show there id to a kid that is way under 25 years old to buy a game .This is stuipd .Kids will not stop trying to kid violent games if an adult shows there id to buy a game that is to violent .How came up with this idea spinless wimps cowards at GameStop wimps!!!!! thoughtless idiots

GameStop ignored me-at the store AND corporate end!

I preordered a Nintendo WiiU from the GameStop on Highway 150 in Hoover, Alabama. I had it completely paid off before I knew there would be NO midnight release for the console. This is the first console in recent memory not to get a release! I sent GameStop's customer service a few emails letting them know that I was not pleased. I got over it a few days before release(after no response at all from GameStop) and settled on going up to my store early. I had talked to an employee that said they were opening an hour early for the release of the console, the day before it was to be released. I show up at 9 am, see an employee walk in a little after 9 and go and sit outside the building around 9:30. 10:00 comes and goes. I called the store number a few times to see if I could talk to the employee inside and he has been ignoring the phone! It's now 20 minutes after 10 and I am still waiting. If GameStop doesnt't want my money to future new releases, they just got their wish. HORRIBLE customer service and little to no knowledge about ANYTHING from the staff!

GameStop deceitful advertisment

I made a reservation for pre-released of Halo 4 and Assassins Creed 3 at the Issaquah Store, that was offered with two additional games, Sawtooth Sord and Mayan Ruins. When I went to pick it up, 4 days after the release date, they pointed to small lines on the receipt that say: Upcoming Release Products will be held for 48 hours after release. They game me the two games ordered, but they claimed that they could not give the games of the promotion, but they no longer had the promotion item. I think this is a deceitful practice, and because I paid ahead they should reserve my promotion, for a reasonable amount of time to allow me to pick it up.

Gamestop Mgr Brandon and Girlfriend disrespects customers

I HAVE 4MIN OF VIDEO. WAITING ON GAMESTOP RESPONSE: Ok So I go into a GAMESTOP on Arden way in Sacramento next door to Once Upon a Child. I was there an hour with my 2 year old who was past her nap time anyway. I put games on the counter and waited in line while he (store employee) was serving the customers ahead of us. Unfortunately he was so distracted by the girl in the store who just hanging at the counter; that he didn't pay attention to his customers. The store video shows the whole incident. He was so enthralled with the young woman that he was talking to her during each customer he served. I was in line while he served the 3 customers, I walked away to look at another game. came back when he was doner and letr another costumer go ahead of me. So i came back again he put al;l my games up still talking to this young woman he said is a customer . She never had a bag and seems to have no cares about the customers who come up to the counter. Customers shouldn't have to deal with that kind of treatment and loud talking and yelling from a friend of an employee. Once he put my games back I was pissed enough to say: Hey Man you're too distracted by this young woman to pay attention. I hope that one of his district managers looks up the video for November 16th and can see his poor performance in the store. I just put this first part up to show the lady's face. WELL it gets better. He lied when I asked for his name & store #, then he said he had no name; all Americans have a name and the young lady was yelling at me when i asked what is she doing here. What's the store number and who is his boss? ...horrible I tell you. HE THREATENED TO CALL THE POLICE ON ME FOR YELLING BACK AT HIS GIRLFRIEND AND SAYING "*** THAT SHE CANT TALK LIKE THAT IN FRONT OF MY DAUGHTER". IF HAD HER MOM OR ANY WHITE PEOPLE AT ALL BEEN IN THERE THE WHOLE EVENT WOULD HAVE BEEN WAY DIFFERENT. on the phone I told my brothewr this dude is tripping ***. Brandon told me he heard me say *** on the phone like that was thee worst of all that happened. Im black I can say ***. HE CANT!!!!! I had to call another GameStop and ask for the information for the store I had this problem with because the store employee I encountered was horrifically rude & disrespectful. My daughter is apologizing to me like this was her fault, she was stressing and getting upset & crying because of your employee's behavior and I am extremely upset about that. Not to mention all of the time we watsed in the store to buy games she & I had spent time looking for, which this employee put back & then said he didn't remember where he put them, so I was also unable to purchase my games which were the reason for our visit to the store in the first place. Gamestop banned me for Complaining of broken product or ***

The store I am complaining about is Gamestop, in the High Plains Shopping Center 1327 Mainstreet Sterling Colorado 80751. In June 2012, I traded in a 120GB PS3 Slim, and a white Nintendo Wii for a backwards compatible PS3. At first I was extremely happy to finally own a Backwards Compatible (henceforth called a BC) PS3, but after 2 or so days of use the hard drive in it had a fatal malfunction. Returned it for another BC PS3, but that one was sold broken and was immediately brought back (the GPU was fried in it from overheating). After waiting a week, I was given another BC PS3 which also broke down within days of getting. By now I was getting upset that I traded 2 systems for a system that can't last more than a couple of days. Finally they got a BC PS3 that didn't die immediately. I was overjoyed and purchased a Product Replacement Plan for 1 year on it. That system died on October 28 2012, after calling and speaking to them, they order ANOTHER system for me from out of town, and this time were quite rude about it. The manager of the store, who had ordered it was telling me how only idiots buy BC PS3's because all they doing is buying them to break. I felt abit insulted by that comment, because not only is he complaining that he had to find another system, he was guaranteeing it would break down again, and I was an *** for wanting one... System finally came in on October 30, 2012. Went to exchange it and the person working wanted to check my system to make sure it was really dead. I had no problem with that, and after he confirmed my system was broken went to check the other system. I had noticed that the PS3 I was recieving had games in the games tab. I had asked him if the system had been reformatted yet (to protect the previous owner of any personal information on the system), and he told me "it wasn't his job to reformat it cause it came from another store, and that anything on there was mine for free unless I wanted to delete it". Anyway the system worked, I was happy and brought it home. Once home, I connected it to the internet, updated the firmware, and went into the persons account, I noticed not only did I have a vast library of stuff, but also his credit card information, and a cache of *** in the photo section (I can't confirm 100 percent it was ***, but the folder was titled "hot cheerleaders", and looked like a naked woman on the thumbnail picture for the folder). After formatting the hard drive for myself (i didn't like the credit card information on there). I proceeded to try to remove and place my own hard drive in it. That is when I realized that every screw was stripped out, and it had some form of glue on them (i thought it was super glue, but my brother said it was probably locktight). After about 2 hours of using needle nose pliers, i removed the first screw (the blue screw) and saw, that the hard drive case was also damaged (one of the screws was floating and it looked as if they pulled the harddrive off by force and bent the drive case back to shape). I was not happy... Went in on November 1, 2012 to exchange it for anything in that price range at this point. I was tired of every system I receive being broken and figured I would take a loss and just get a PS3 slim again. After a call to the manager, and being told that they don't normally do it. They exchanged it for a PS3 slim used, of the same value. After taking it home and turning it on, i was happy to see it was formatted, and had to install new firmware. Went to put a disc in to play it and realized they sold me ANOTHER system that was broken. Because try as I might, the blu ray wouldn't go into the PS3 (it wouldn't take it). So I did what any disgruntled customer who had gone through 6 PS3's would do, called customer support. While on hold with them, my brother offered to take the system to Gamestop to exchange it again, and left. Talked to customer service about the problem, and they offered to just pay me 220 for the system, I told them that was unsatisfactory, and if they wanted to "pay me off" I would prefer to just be given back my original stuff I traded for that system. She told me to hold, and put me on with Kristen of Expert Customer Store Claims, who told me that they can't do that. But told me they would give me 330 dollars for they system and I was officially banned from shopping at Gamestop. I told them I would have to pull my preorders out, and she said i could and i hung up. Called my brother to tell him what i was told, and apparently Gamestop had been busy calling the District Manager and settling thing with him as well. Told him I was to get 330 for the system plus to pull my preorders there. When he got home, he told me that they wouldn't honor the original amount because she "misquoted" me and instead gave me 200 plus my preorders (45), and it was non negotiable. At this point my mother was elated at the fact they screwed us (I was on speaker phone during my call, because they kept me on hold for over a half an hour, so she heard the entire argument), so she called and wanted to speak to Kristen of Expert Customer Store Relations, after waiting 20 minutes on hold, she was denied a call from her, because it wasn't an issue with her and if she wanted to contact anyone get a hold of the District Manager instead. So she waited til he called. After he called, she vented her rage at the fact the store made us kneel over, so to speak and that they left us in a lose/lose situation. He told her I was unpleasable, and if she doesn't like the way he handles his store, don't shop there. She tried to reason with him telling him that they kept selling broken systems, and he tried telling her that I was costing them more than the system is worth. It didn't end well, and ultimately solved nothing.

I didn't read the whole thing (sorry I'm lazy) but I do want to mention that BC PS3's are VERY VERRRYYYY wonky and don't last long at all. That's why Playstation got rid of the BC feature on the latest models of PS3's.

Gamestop's poor customer service

I noticed yesterday that someone has managed to access my power up reward account and use my points to purchase a $3 PSN card. I sent out an email to them, and even attached a screenshot showing what happened. In return I received a response with no empathy to their customer, and went straight to jargon that pretty much tells me "we don't care that you were a victim of fraud... too bad" I am posting this because customers should be aware of Gamestop, horrible customer care, and should spend their money somewhere else. Recently received my copy of Skyrim for PC. First off, it took almost 3 weeks to get to me, their disclosure states that it may take 2 days to process and 7-10 days to ship.

I'm not genius, but I'm pretty sure that adds up to a max of 12 days.

When I got the game, the packaged looked like it was crushed, the case is bent, and the disk is bent. I called customer support and was told that "Once it leaves their facility that it's no longer their responsibility what condition the game is in, but that I'm "welcome to take it into a store where they can order me a new copy and have it in 2-3 weeks...

Yes they are huge thieves!! I bought a couple items last night at game stop and wouldn't you know they managed to use my information that my son had on his powerup card to purchase and xbox live membership.

Gamestop won't help me at all. Guess they like having criminals working for them.

Gamestop's Incompetent Employees

I visited gamestop in carbondale illinois to switch my preorder from AC3 to halo 4. After unnecessary pressure to not switch from the incompetent behind the counter, she did as i instructed. AFTER completing the transaction and having been given my receipt, she asked for an id. I did no have mine on me so she cancelled my transaction! I argued with her that I was over 18 when I preordered the M rated AC3, and that I didnt get younger now that I wanted to get Halo 4 (M rated) instead. She (Stephine) was rude and would not look me in the eye. This just demonstrates the poor customer service that I have seen in the past and have heard about. Their prices are high and trade-ins low. Customer service is aweful. Knowledge of transaction process was horrible. If they went out of business today the world would be a better place, except these incompetents would be out looking for jobs again.

Gamestop is starting to make me mad

I pre-order Dishonored sometime ago and I was told there would be a midnight release for it. I called today asking when the best time to get there would be and I was told there's not going to be a midnight release. I called up gamestop customer service and And they told me there's not many people ordering the game to open up store for I have 5 pre-oders in Oct. and some in Nov. I buy all my games there I have 73 games and 2 ps3 and one ps vita I got there I see myself as a valid customer at game stop. so I got upset told her on the phone that it don't matter if theres only a few that did order for the game they should valid their customers then care if being open would make them money enough to be open. I also said its all about money and she said yes it is. she dont understand making people mad like me buying all that i do and 5 pre-orders makes me want to go to other places to buy them and they loose money in the long run and their customers. Each customer that keeps going in there should be treated with repect and feel like there a valid customer that's how to keep a company going so to keep people coming to your store that's how they done it in the old days. now days they act like you stop going there then there's more people still left so they don't care. and that might be true but after time of making customers mad they will stop making money close up gamestops in your town then one day be gone all together. So valid your gamestop or loose my business.

5 preorders= $300 dollars. They have to pay employees to be there, electrical bill for running the store, plus percentage to the credit card swiping machines for each purchase not made in cash, as well as other expendetures ( over time and depending the location of the store, an after hours fee). . They would loose money...

and being that all 5 of you wouldnt show up, it would be foolish for them to open their doors. . .do you really not have patience to wait 9-12 hours to get it. .

You are right, its all about money,. Yet, if you cant see the finacial responsibility of the store to not open then stop preordering games or man up and get some knowledge

employees wait three hours for you to come get your game. you coming and buying it doesn't even pay the person waiting on you.

I went to gamestop and traded in my 3ds and i ask the guy how much will i will get he said sign first so i signed and then i tried to buy a 3dsXL for $200 but he woud not let me im pissed off at gamestop for ripping me off. Be careful at gamestop when you go they can easily rip you off. The guys name is bradley watch out this happend 10/2/12 I will get a 3dsXL but i might wait and go to another gamestop or get it some where else but not Walmart

Game Stop (Lucent & Highlands Ranch, CO)

My son & I reserved a copy of Modern Warfare at he Lucent & Highlands Ranch Game Stop in Colorado. Brian Wolf was happy to help us reserve the game. A few months later we went to pay off the game (before it comes out in November). Not only could they not find us in their system, but were snarky and downright rude when we asked them to search the computer system. We went home & found the receipt. It turns out that Brian had put the reservation down on his OWN CARD. We did not get an apology. We did get a refund & moved our money elsewhere! Way to go Brian, you showed our impressionable teen what happens to a man when he LIES- you are a FOOL. We will never come back to your store & we are telling everyone about you.

How gamestop hurt me and embrassed me

I used to love gamestop and going there to buy my games, but now one lays a bitter taste in my mouth. so many *** things have happen and here is the list. 1. my boyfriend pre-order madden, and was going to pick it up. only to cancel the mid-night release. so they shift them off the another one, so we go there instead of giving it to them. they say they cant give him his pre-order, even though he already payed for it. they told him he had to pay again to get it. 2. many games we got they claim new been repackged or obvious not new. One of my so called new games they couldn't find it and one guy asked another if he took it home to play it. he said no. 3. here is the one that hurt me and embrassed me. we got a So called new game he put the disc in there and everything. I already knew it wasn't really new but it was a hard to find game, so i got it. the box looked like it been messed with. my boyfriend wouldn't let me open it til we got home. and to find out there was no game in there just the soundtrack. so I go back trying to get my game only for them to not have it. he didnt say he was sorry, only gave us our money back. and i cant do anything because its my boyfriends friend and he will dump me if i take up for myself.
